Operating Site Foreman

Position Summary
The Operating Site Foreman leads and supervises on-site civil excavation crews; operates heavy equipment; ensures safety compliance; and performs a variety of skilled tasks related to excavation, site preparation, and infrastructure work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Leading and supervising excavation activities to ensure safe and efficient work practices
  • Operating excavation equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, skid steers, and loaders
  • Coordinating daily operations with project managers, subcontractors, and site personnel
  • Performing daily inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and reporting issues to supervisor
  • Reviewing construction plans, specifications, and schedules to direct crews and optimize site work
  • Enforcing jobsite safety policies and procedures and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
  • Providing constant courtesy, discretion, and sound judgment with crew and clients
  • Performing other work-related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
  • Experience as a foreman in civil excavation or related field
  • Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred
  • Working knowledge of excavation equipment and civil construction processes
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbally
  • Ability to observe proper safety precautions
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, subcontractors, and the public
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and make informed field decisions
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks under varying weather conditions
  • Ability to operate a variety of heavy equipment under variable site conditions
  • Ability to make independent judgments which have significant impact on the organization

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and vibration. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risks of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Truck Driver- Part Time

Position Summary  

The Truck Driver operates a variety of trucks utilized in hauling activities; performs a variety of semi-skilled tasks in the maintenance of said truck.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: 

  • Operating trucks of various sizes and weights in the loading, hauling and unloading of various equipment, materials, and supplies 
  • Operating trucks such as dump truck, triaxle, and flat bed 
  • Performing daily inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned truck and referring defects or repairs to supervisor, cleaning truck 
  • Performing all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards  
  • Providing constant courtesy, discretion, and sound judgment with public 
  • Performing other work-related duties as assigned 

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) 

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred 
  • Two (2) years experience driving trucks and/or heavy hauling 
  • Valid CDL license 
  • Working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions common to heavy equipment operations 
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions 
  • Ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbally 
  • Ability to observe proper safety precautions 
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with other employees, supervisors, and the public 
  • Ability to perform heavy manual tasks under varying weather conditions 
  • Ability to drive and operate a variety of equipment under varying conditions 
  • Ability to make independent judgments which have considerable impacts on the organization
